Case Details

William Arnold served a one-year sentence consecutive to a five- to 25-year sentence for the crimes of rape (three counts), corruption of a minor (two counts) and complicity to pandering obscenity involving a minor (one count). The three rape charges resulted from Arnold having oral sex with three girls who were ages 8,11 and 14. The remaining charges stemmed from inappropriate parties Arnold had at his home.

Nine girls, ages 8 to 17, testified that Arnold had sexual contact with children. Arnold lured the children to his home by having parties. At the parties, he gave the children alcohol and cigarettes, and played games involving nudity and sex. Arnold provided them with beer and cigarettes to facilitate his crimes. Arnold also took pornographic pictures of the girls, and offered payment.

William Arnold was charged with molesting four children. Arnold refused to admit his guilt, did not take responsibility for his crimes and showed absolutely no remorse. Arnold took a plea deal and received a sentence of 5-25 years. Arnold claimed he took the plea deal in hopes of receiving a lighter sentence.

The Ohio Parole Board granted Arnold parole in 2009, but a petition opposing release and requesting a full board hearing was received through the Office of Victim Services and was accepted. The full board hearing was conducted in September 2009. Arguments in support of and in opposition to release were heard. Based on the information received at this hearing by interested parties, the board determined that Mr. Arnold was not suitable for release, and that his release would create an undue risk to public safety, particularly to young children.

No Parole

William Arnold is a serial child molester. Arnold’s actions have permanently scarred the lives of several innocent children. We have been unable to obtain any information that would indicate Arnold has admitted to his crimes and/or has shown any remorse for his actions since his trial. We believe releasing William Arnold prior to serving his maximum sentence would pose a serious risk to any children that would come into contact with him. Based on the fact William Arnold sexually assaulted at least three children and, at his trial, refused to take any responsibility for his actions and took a plea deal only to benefit himself, we believe William Arnold should be required to serve his maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

UPDATE: Parole was denied several times for serial child rapist William Arnold. Due to a generous plea deal given by the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office, Arnold was released from prison on July 12, 2015 at the completion of his 25-year sentence. Thank you to everyone who submitted a petition to keep him in prison for his full sentence.
